About Trans-O-Rama

Trans-O-Rama  is a weekly newsletter featuring events by, for, and starring transgender people. We're focusing on NYC to start, but hoping to expand so that trans people everywhere can find community and celebration.

Where your donations go

Here's what we need to keep the lights on and keep growing:

1. Paying for Ghost ($11/month) ✅ Accomplished!
2. Improve our branding and commission a logo
3. Pay admin & volunteers who help organize and coordinate this project
4. Anything that doesn't keep our lights on will be passed on to support the events and performers we feature

Get Involved

We need [currently unpaid] volunteer support in the following areas:

1. Social media. I would love some help maintaining our Insta and interacting with and supporting other trans folks there.
2. Data management and event collection. I need help getting a wide body of NYC events in our Airtable to feed this newsletter. If you (like me) enjoy the busywork of data collection and cleaning, please reach out.
3. Design. In an effort to start small, I made all of the Trans-O-Rama imagery in like two minutes in Canva. As soon as we have funding from memberships, I want to commission a logo and get some branding advice. If you are in a position to provide branding help for free, that would also be helpful.
4. Writing. I would love to have articles highlighting trans art, performance, and activism. If you have a person or subject you'd like to highlight, please get in touch!
5. Expanding into other cities. Right now I'm limiting myself to NYC to keep our first step small. In the future, I'd love to have support aggregating events for cities across the USA.... and across the globe.
